FAQ

Do I need a referral?

You do not need a referral to see a Hand Therapist as a private patient. You do need a referral if you are claiming through a compensable body such as WorkCover, CTP. An ECP (extended care plan) is required to claim on Medicare. These referrals are only appropriate in certain circumstances.

Accounts & Payment Terms

Payment is required on the day of treatment. Instant health fund claiming is available. Workcover, CTP, DVA and Medicare accounts are sent to the insurer directly by HAULT.

What do I need to bring?

Remember to bring X-rays or other test results with you to your appointment. Workcover patients need to bring their claim number and the contact details of their employer.

What rebates are available?

Private Health Funds

Private Patients may receive a rebate from their private health fund if cover includes ancillary services for Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy (we have both types of therapists at HAULT). Depending on your policy, there may be a rebate applicable to some splints and equipment. HICAPS is available for on the spot rebates for the consultation for most funds.

Enhanced Primary Care (EPC)

In some circumstances, rebate from Medicare may be available if your GP approves you for the Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) Programme. Patients are entitled to 5 allied health services in a year.

Worker’s Compensation, CTP, DVA

Patients with approved Workers Compensation Claim, Compulsory Third Party (CTP) and Department of Veteran Affairs do not have to pay for their consultations. We will directly bill the relevant insurance company or DVA. Referrals are required and an up to date medicate certificate for Workers Compensation patients.
